just got back from florida...

we actually stayed in point clear alabama on the beach at the mariott grand hotel. It's this hotel in a wooded area on the beach with white sand. dang it was pretty sweet. wake up at 5 for work down in pensacola, florida and come home at like 5:30, take a shower, eat dinner and then enjoy the resort at night...lots of stories. collin and david are animals and ron better write a good report.

I BLOODY CUT MY LEG WITH A CHAINSAW!!!!!

I had to go to the emergency room just outside pensacola florida to get 5 stitches in my left shin and after the numbing shots wore off I've been in some pain. hobbling my gimp self around everywhere

I LEAVE FOR FLORIDA IN 3 HOURS.

my bags aren't packed yet, but I wouldn't think you would expect me to have them packed. me, david, colin, and ron and a whole bunch of people will be helping clean up the carnage that the past couple hurricanes have left behind somewhere in florida I have no idea where. I don't even remember the last time I've been on a vacation. not that this is vacation. more than the klinglers, and this time I will be getting paid.

I don't know what kind of free time we will have. supposedly we could be working up to like 14 hours a day for 7 days straight. david and colin drink a lot and ron is a grown man so I suspect that at any chance they get at night they will be wasted, or something I suppose. we will just have to wait and see.

I got to share the gospel with someone today. That was incredibly awesome. I mean all these "coincidences" just happened to fit together. The fact that I was able to go to church allowed me to wear jeans this morning, and because I was supposed to work in hardware for the first time ever, I kept my jeans on. A lot associate quit so I should have been switched out of hardware and the schedule should have been changed. But the lady who does the scheduling got mugged and had some broken ribs and didn't come to work so the schedule didn't get changed. So I walk into home depot and on my way to the breakroom Jose notices I have on jeans and instead of telling him I'm working hardware "I just came from church". Later on Jose asked me if I liked church. I said yes and instead of taking the opportunity to dive into religious beliefs I nervously and unobediently kept my mouth shut just imagining all the seeds I could be planting within his heart.

So God had another plan. He took it one step further. After Jose mentions he went to church only a couple times and I keep keeping my mouth shut he just keeps imploring the subject. "I believe God is just there and when you need him you should go to him, you know?"

If I didn't share what I believed and what the Bible said on impulse I think God would have smited me down right there. lol not really, but it was blatantly obvious that God was directing this conversation that I had with Jose. With a few interuptions I shared with Jose exactly what God did for you and me.

I'm not necessarily into the gospel presentation to absolutely everyone you meet in a 1-2-3 method now become a christian, but it does remind me: who I am, who God is, and what He did for me.

well everyone have an amazing week and pray for God to give me some strength this week. I tweaked my elbow and will be working some long hours, hopefully it doesn't get in the way and I can stay a healthy boy.

The End.

so usually the really good things that are a possibility for me never happen. But I think this time the odds of something good occuring are gi-normous!!!!

Within the next week sometime I will be headed off to Florida to help with all the hurricane destruction that has been taking place. 5 other guys and myself will be loading up on a bus whenever it is ready for us and will be out of here, staying in a 5 star resort. All expenses payed for! booyah. I'm excited

many of you know I havn't gotten payed for my services(house sitting for an entire week, day and night) witht he klinglers so this is a copy of the brilliant email I sent to david klingler...

David and Katie,
I was a little uncertain whether or not I would be getting payed for the house sitting deal. I know nothing was mentioned and I'm fine doing it for free, it was kinda like my vacation away from home for a week, plus I got to watch sportscenter. But just in case you had planned on paying me and because I'm not usually at church on Sundays I wanted to let you know I wasn't working during church so I'd be there this Sunday for church and Sunday school. Thanks
Jake Roberts

anyways I got a fat lip, got to play basketball, working out and going to work...

amazing

tonight (4th of july) was pure awesomeness...

stuart, andy, carrie, lauren, steph, david, my cousin calvin and I all went to shoot off some fireworks at david's. we were gonna watch fightclub which is pretty sweet, but kinda changed plans and at first I was a little disappointed because in the past I havn't been too keen of fireworks. but tonight changed my whole perspective...

started off with some simple stuff. that's how it always works. some bottle rockets, smoke bombs, small fire crackers and a couple artillery shells shot up in the air. you know the normal stuff. well it wasn't too long before we became creative. artillery shells in 2 liter bottles or vanilla milkshakes did the trick. exploding on the ground instead of flying into the air.

not a big deal but quite entertaining. now years ago me and john used to play soccer with military smoke bombs with no harm done. a lot of fun actually. so I bought two tonight hoping for the same, but I wasn't prepared for what would take place at david's house. I go to light it up, and it's a long cylinder, well it caught on fire and had a blue flame on the end of it. "hmmm...that's kinda odd" well it starts smoking. alright now time for soccer. everytime we kicked it a foot of flames came shooting out. so we enjoyed kicking the flaming bomb until it got underneath my car. the car that isn't really mine. I got freaked out until my cousin pulled it out and threw it and it burst into flames.

everyone shous for the next one. this one starts out better. no flame. soccer time. calvin kicks it to me and then it explodes right beside me and continues down the street in flames. I was spinning in circles fearing for my life when I finally realized what had happened.

the most harmless of fireworks seemed the most exciting. that was definately an awesome time spent with some people I won't be seeing much of in about a month or 2. hopefully we can do something again...

oh yeah we(me and andy) shot some mini roman candles at stephy and she ran like crazy and screamed a lot. sorry steph. lol

that's what you get for calling my cat ugly and disgusting. jk
